Each year, ASU students team up to compete at the American Astronautical Society CanSat competition. Their mission? To design and build a space-type system and compete against teams around the world! This year teams were tasked with building, launching and landing a can satellite equipped with temperature and air pressure sensor, a communication system and a parachute. Each can satellite also contained an egg that must remain intact throughout its journey. Anthony McCourt helped ASU’s Team Butter (Ballistic Universal Times Trajectory Egg Recovery) take home fifth place out of 33 total teams. Hear McCourt’s story on the Innovation Happens Podcast.
